The knee is one of the most injured joints in the body. It carries three to four times the body weight whilst performing a vast range of motions so it's quite understandable that participation in field or contact sports or repetitive sports such as jogging, or the sudden twisting and turning in racquet sports that it is susceptible to injury. The knee is made up of bones, cartilage, muscles, ligaments and tendons all working together, so when the knee becomes injured it can easily be one or more of these parts.
