Protective equipment
How can wearing protection help prevent sports injuries?
Wearing protection on the injured area can increase the impact area and so lessen the blow. It will also help the surrounding area of the body to absorb the blow because the impact area is dispersed. The body part being protected will have movement limited which will stop overwork, and the protection will add mass to the injured area to reduce the risk of deformation and displacement. It will also prevent the absorption of bacteria, fungus and viruses.
