Vincent Zhou will not be competing in the Men's Short Program due to testing positive for COVID-19. Despite consistently wearing masks and taking precautions, he will miss the individual event. Nathan Chen, who has been in close contact with Vincent, continues to look strong in practice, showing focused intensity and clean run-throughs. Unfortunately, it is too late to call in alternate skater Ilya Mulin. Yuzuru Hanyu's arrival at practice brought a new level of intensity and focus. The practice environment this year is highly controlled due to COVID protocols, with limited media presence and strict seating capacity.
