Tergat Injured

Former world marathon record holder Paul Tergat is currently nursing injuries at the Aga Khan Hospital after being involved in an accident. According to his friend and former world 3,000-meter steeplechase champion Moses Kiptanui, Tergat was traveling from Nairobi to Eldoret when the accident occurred near Bunch Forest. Tergat was on his way to be honored at a university graduation and was planning to return to Nairobi the next day. Fortunately, Tergat sustained minor injuries and was quickly rushed to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for treatment. The accident has cast doubt on his attendance at the Sportsman of the Year Award ceremony, which he initiated, scheduled to be held at KICC. Tergat, a five-time gold medalist in the World Cross Country Championships from 1995 to 1999, reassured his fans, family, and friends that he is in stable condition. He expressed gratitude for surviving the accident and mentioned that he was transferred to Nairobi for further treatment after consultations with close family members.
