This has been an ongoing idea with Jerry Colangelo and my sous-chef since 2006. We're in the midst of a war; this is a great opportunity to show support for our men and women in uniform. Paul George has shaken up and ran into the stanchion. The most important thing right now is making sure that these guys stay healthy. Paul George is suffering what appears to be a serious lower leg injury, and the athletic training staff will tend to him. Unfortunately, this might be serious. This is part of the reality of playing basketball, whether working out on your own or playing pick-up basketball.
We're going to take a break and come back right after this. Here in Las Vegas, Nevada, multiple looks of concern are etched across the faces of USA basketball players, coaches, and training staff. Moments ago, Paul George suffered a very gruesome injury. Right now, he's going to get great medical attention, and they'll get him out of the arena as quickly as possible. As a basketball coach, I would grab the mic and tell everybody I wouldn't play the rest of this game. This is a scrimmage, and these guys have played very hard.
Paul George tried to block James Harden's shot, but I don't think the players would want to keep playing right now. It would be very challenging mentally, physically, and emotionally to continue this game. The entire USA team is having a moment of prayer for their injured teammate, Paul George. Paul George was thought to be a potential starter.
The trainers were out immediately, and emergency personnel are here. There's a stretcher, and they're cheering his name. This is one of the dangers of the game.
