Mats Sundin Knocks Out Grant Fuhr with One Shot
The other gentleman out there is Dr. Rick Leman, the Blues' orthopedic surgeon. Sundin had to aim high because Al MacInnis was sliding to block the shot, so he shot over MacInnis and hit Fuhr. In the replay, you can see Sundin looking for Gilmore, but when he decides to take the shot, MacInnis slides down, forcing Sundin to lift the puck over him, hitting Fuhr in the face. Blues trainer Ray Barile and Dr. Rick Leman are still on the ice. The replay shows MacInnis coming, and Sundin shoots over him, causing Fuhr's helmet to pop up from the velocity of the shot.
