Evelyne Viens #CANWNT First-Time Olympian

I think it took me at least two days to realize that was a real call. When I understood that it was like a dream happening, I knew that it was great to be an Olympian, but I wanted to win a medal. It took me some time, but now I'm just focused on getting a gold medal. Six months ago, I got my first call-up, and I was so excited to be there and just learning from the best players in the country. The first camp was a learning experience, and the second camp I was able to show more abilities and my scoring skills. The third camp I was just more hungry every time I went on the field and wanted to help the team get better every day. Receiving a call from Bev was an amazing feeling, and now I'm even more excited to go to the Olympics. Canada was playing France, and I remember the one against the States, but they gave everything against France. Just being able to score that goal at the end was an amazing feeling watching as a fan, and now being able to play is such a unique experience. Everyone has their own path; mine is pretty different from many people, but just keep going. Even if you don't receive the call-up, keep working, and everything will happen for a reason. As of now, I'm getting my couple of calls in, and I'm going to the Olympics, so just keep working.
