Falls Compilation of Anna Shcherbakova
Watch what happened. She went all the way around with great speed, nice and tight in the air. Blades all the way around, but she couldn't get the free leg unraveled in time. She wants to accomplish quad flips that she's done before. This time, she didn't pop up off that pick as quickly as she normally does. She didn't get the height or the time to get around. You can see the blade landing forward, and she's off the back of the heel. But she gets up, showing incredible courage, and comes right down the ice to try again. It's further around all the way.
What a shame, she overcooked that one. Russian stars have taken the sport forward over the last 12 months. She went for it but fell on the opening quad flip, which was under-rotated. She was falling out in practice this morning. I didn't know if she would go for it, wondering if she would elect to stay safe.
Oh gosh, that's a horrible start for Ana. She slipped and took her blade into the ice. The distance between that and her score is significant. Look at the takeoff and how much of the blade goes down. There's a debate about the technique that she does have.
