Of course, we've got the opening ceremony tomorrow, and then the rink here will be buzzing come Sunday. What about the Russians? Can they go one, two, three? They did last year, so there's every expectation they can do it again.
Well, first up, let's look at the Russians. Silver medalist in last year's European Championship, bronze medalist in the Olympics, Philipe Candeloro, and his rendition of the Three Musketeers. If it works, it's a brilliant program.

Now to Alexei Yagudin from Russia, just 17 years of age, bidding to win the European Crown. This could be where we enter quad alley—second jump on the schedule, a quadruple toe loop.
[Music and performance]
A brilliant team effort, and that was fantastic. Quadruple toe, brilliant triple axles, seven triples, one quad. Masterful choreography, giving him time to breathe between elements. He was so sure in those jumps. This man will likely do a quadruple axle in competition next season.
So now to the reigning Junior World Champion, lying in third place here, AI Penko. His choice of music, a selection by Jean Michel Jarre.
[Music and performance]
An amazing start to the routine, considering he's only 15 years old. Beautiful landing on the second triple axle.
[Music and performance]
A brilliant performance. Good marks, but some judges were harsh. Two judges had him in first place, but he ends up in third overall.
Now, Alexander Apt, another phenomenon from Russia, with a selection of Oriental music.
[Music and performance]
A great idea for the program. His legs have gone, but he gave it his best shot. Remember, he's here as a substitute for Ilia Kulik, who has back problems.
[Music and performance]
The Russians make it one, two, three. The trifecta. But there was no Elvis in the building, and a couple of others. No Elvis, no Todd Eldridge. We're in for a really good men's Olympic event. Philipe Candeloro finished fifth in this European Championship, but he has a medal chance if he's on a good night. All makes for a fantastic competition. We'll take a break and come back for ice dancing.
