The Horrifying World Record Attempt of Alex Harvill

On June 17, 2021, Alex Harvill aimed to break the record set by Australian biker Robbie Maddison in 2008 by performing a motorcycle ramp jump at the Moses Lake air show in Washington. Despite practicing diligently, tragedy struck during a practice jump when Alex landed short of the downward slope on the landing ramp. He was thrown off his bike and suffered fatal injuries. Alex was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. His family noted that he died doing what he loved. Later, in August 2022, Guinness World Records officially recognized Alex's 425 ft ramp-to-dirt motorcycle jump from May 12, 2012, cementing his legacy in motorcycle history.
